In Micron’s Technology Products Group (TPG) we are engaged in developing groundbreaking silicon-to-systems solutions – right from technology development and advanced memory designs to product development, systems design and validation resulting in world class memory solutions. As a Semiconductor Engineer you will go through a structured training program in a variety of domains before settling into a mutually preferred team.


The DRAM Engineering team designs, develops, validates, and qualifies the advanced Micron memory modules for the different computing systems that you use every day.


The vertically integrated Nonvolatile Engineering teams contributes to design, development and validation of our nonvolatile memory product portfolio spanning NAND component design and product engineering to systems development. The team is also passionate about delivering high-value solutions for the advanced storage class memory based systems as well as high performance controller ASICs and firmware. It also engages in development of high-end interfaces (PHYs).


The Technology Development team provides advanced process, tcad and compact modeling and characterization solutions for next generation memory technologies (DRAM, NAND, 3D XPoint™ and emerging memories).


The Data Sciences team works with sophisticated big-data and AI/ML approaches to derive solutions for next generation manufacturing challenges.


To qualify for this role you should demonstrate a high flair for developing your career in the domain of semiconductor engineering with proven learning exposure of theoretical or practical concepts as part of your academic achievements.


Minimum Requirements:


Pursuing final year of undergraduate degree in an engineering field related to Electronics, Engineering Physics, material sciences or related subject areas with a minimum CGPA of 7 /10 or 3.5/5. Excellent complex Problem-Solving abilities. Demonstrate examples of theoretical or practical concepts in electronics or related field as part of your academic achievements. Exposure to AI/ML and/Ability to develop efficient code in one or more development/scripting languages such as Python, C, Verilog, Perl etc will be a distinct advantage

Memory Circuit Design Verification Engineer:


As a Memory Circuit Design Verification Engineer, you will work in a highly innovative, motivated, young and dynamic design team capable of verifying complete products using state of the art memory technologies. You will need to have the ability to evaluate full chip and/or block level functionality and provide solutions to help the timely delivery of a functionally correct design.

Responsibilities 


Participate in simulating, analyzing and debugging pre-silicon full chip designs by applying leading edge verification technique  

Develop Test cases/Stimulus to increase the functional coverage for all DRAM and emerging memory architectures and features. 

Develop and maintain test benches and test vectors using simulation tools and run regressions for coverage analysis and improvements. 

Co-work with international colleagues on developing new verification flows to take on the challenges in DRAM and emerging memory design. 

Participate in developing verification methodology and verification environments for advanced DRAM and emerging memory products.

Analytical capability for complex gate level circuit designs 

Basic understanding of CMOS circuit designs 

Familiar with both SPICE and Verilog simulations

BaseStd – Design Engineer:


As a Design Engineer at Micron Technology, Inc., you will be responsible for designing and analyzing digital and analog circuits used in the development of memory products. We are engaged in developing groundbreaking silicon-to-systems solutions – right from technology development and advanced memory designs to product development, systems design and validation resulting in world class memory solutions.  

In this position, you will collaborate with Micron’s various design and verification teams all over the world and support the efforts of groups such as Product Engineering, Test, Probe, Process Integration, Assembly and Marketing to proactively design products that optimize all manufacturing functions and assure the best cost, quality, reliability, time-to-market, and customer satisfaction 


Job Description 


Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: 


Contributing to the development of new product opportunities by assisting with the overall design, layout, and optimization of Memory/Logic/Analog circuits 

Parasitic modeling and assisting in design validation, reticle experiments and required tape-out revisions 

Overseeing and managing the layout process including floor-planning, placement, and routing 

Performing verification processes with modeling and simulation using industry standard simulators 

Contributing to cross group communication to work towards standardization and group success 

Working with Marketing, Probe, Assembly, Test, Process Integration, and Product Engineering groups to ensure accurate manufacturability of product 

Proactively solicit guidance from Standards, CAD, modeling, and verification groups to improve the design quality 

Driving innovation into the future Memory generations within a dynamic work environment 

Performs semiconductor design engineering assignments including engineering and designing chip layout circuits, circuit checking, documenting specifications, modifying and evaluating semiconductor devices and components. Reviews product requirements and logic diagrams for device definition. Typically responsible for projects, or portions of projects, to design, fabricate, modify, and evaluate semiconductor devices and components.

Systems Engineer- CSSD 


The SSD Systems Engineering team works as an integral part of our Client SSD development & validation process, ensuring our products are on time to market and resilient in the field.   


He/ She would be part of world class engineering team, those are responsible for the development of Client, Consumer SSDs. 


This position is being offered in Hyderabad

Engineer Firmware – ESSD


As a Firmware Engineer at Micron Technology, Inc., you will work on high-performance controller firmware for innovative volatile and non-volatile memory systems. In this position, you will participate in coding, building, bench testing, debugging, and failure analyzing firmware for new high-performance memory controllers and Solid State Drives that will increase performance, while reducing power, latency and SoC (System on Chip) complexity for the target markets. You can expect to work closely with system test engineers, firmware engineers, firmware test engineers, and firmware tools developers to solve cross-functional product development issues. 


This position is being offered in Enterprise SSD Engineering, Bangalore

Validation Engineer - ESSD


In the Role as Engineer-Validation, one would be working on design, develop and carryout tests and experiments to validate the product design/architecture and meeting specifications defined internally or through an external standard committee. 


The team is focused on validation of Enterprise and Datacenter class Solid State Devices. These devices are targeted towards high value customers and use cases like Datacenter storage solutions. Team members in this team learn about these use cases, understand how to solve problems of our high value customers through our innovative design/architecture. It’s exciting to apply such knowledge into defining good test cases, automate them to run through product life cycles to make sure we deliver a robust product to our valuable customers. 


In this position or role, team member is expected to  


Understand the design and architecture of the Enterprise/Datacenter SSD FW and product overall. 

Apply the understanding and design good test cases to find defects in the product, triage/debug issues and then also make sure that fix for such issues are thoroughly validated. 

Write necessary tests and code the automated scripts in Python/C/C++ or similar language/frameworks.

Signal Integrity – Engineer


Micron’s Signal Integrity Research and Development (SI R&D) group supports all current and future product development, including DRAM, LPDRAM, NAND, NOR, 3DXP, DIMM modules and SSDs within the consumer, server, mobile, networking, graphics, automobile and embedded businesses. The SI R&D group works on analysis of end to end systems solutions including, but not limited to circuit level IO and Power Distribution, integrated circuit (IC) packages, printed circuit boards (PCBs) and measurements to ensure good Signal Integrity (SI) and power integrity (PI) performance for Micron’s memory solutions. The group owns all steps of the signal and power integrity support process including die IO and package model generation, product performance analysis, system-level SI evaluation, measurement, correlation, and customer support. The group also supports future specification development within several industry standards groups including but not limited to JEDEC, ONFI, and IBIS. The group working environment is technically challenging, team-oriented, collaborative and customer-centric. 

 

Within the larger SI R&D group, as an Engineer in the Signal Integrity team at Micron, you will be responsible for 

 

Working on various aspects of SI and PI for high speed interfaces, including modeling (silicon, package and board level signal and power delivery network, as necessary for the project), time and frequency domain analysis for SI and PI electrical performance evaluation of Micron products and correlation to measurement for the various products. Ensuring that processes for various methodologies are executed effectively and accurately. Collaborating with TMs within the global SIRD group for development and continued optimization of methodologies for modeling and analysis as needed. Representing the SI R&D team in technical cross functional collaborative groups, and integrating with package design, silicon design, product engineering, and marketing departments to ensure overall product performance. Occasionally Supporting FAE, applications engineers with models for service to external customer as needed Occasionally Supporting path-finding activities through modeling support 

 

Successful candidates for this position will have: 

 


Required courses covering electromagnetic, transmission line and RF theory, analog design or similar fields of study or experience. 

Strong SI/PI/EMI theory and application, modeling, analysis, simulation 

Signal and Power Integrity Background 

Experience with, and intermediate working knowledge of E.M. field solvers (quasi-static and full wave), time and frequency domain simulation tools like Q3D, SIWAVE, HFSS, HSPICE, ADS, etc.. 

Deep understanding of electromagnetic and transmission line theory, general I/O design, signal integrity, differential and single-ended interface technologies. 

Deep understanding of timing budgets and jitter analysis 

Expertise in Printed Circuit Board (PCB) layout or electrical package design techniques. 

Experience in design and analysis of high-speed single-ended or differential buses 

Familiarity with, and fundamental understanding of lab measurement equipment like Oscilloscopes, TDR, Vector Network Analyzer (VNA), etc. 

Familiarity with statistical analysis (DOE) and equivalent tools (example: JMP) is also beneficial 

Desirable Memory industry experience 

Ambitious candidate should enjoy leading and taking ownership of assigned projects, exhibit good written and verbal interpersonal skills, and have the ability to work well in a team with varied strengths.
